Flashback to High School...He Was Singing to ME!

Last night, I was catapulted back into the 1980s and high school (and before) as I attended "The Police" concert...my absolute FAVORITE band in high school (along with U2). I was firmly convinced I would marry Sting (Uh, he wrote "Don't Stand So Close to Me" about me, right? I was in high school...). I just couldn't quite figure out how to get rid of the wife...

Fast forward to November 15, 2007, Charlotte, North Carolina, and even though he had the flu the night before in Philly and they had to cancel his, I mean their show, the show went on for me. I know he was singing to me (my friend Debbie told me so...She kept hearing him slip "Mary Mac" into the lyrics - I have a tendency to believe her). And wow! What a performance..."Wrapped Around Your Finger"... again, to me! The entire set -- sung to me, it was!

Then, with the encore (they had TWO - one with 4 songs and then a final song), I felt compelled to stand up as they belted out "Roxanne!" My Mark and Debbie stood up with me...I did become a little verklempt for a moment several times during the show but Roxanne was particularly moving...(okay, so it's theme is a bit shady but it is a CLASSIC -- remember Eddie Murphy? I rest my case)...They were incredible.

Sting looked absolutely amazing with a capital "Zing." Mark kept reminding me he was there (for moral support of course)...Wow, Sting was....well, WOW!...Did I tell you he sang to me?

Oh, I did wear some sassy low cut black boots with jewel embellishments on the side...Very fun shoes! And, look for Shoe of the Week (it's late but I had to emotionally prepare for my face to big screen meeting with Sting....) and my update on the FANTASTIC trip to Athens last week when my Dawgs kicked some Auburn Tiger tail!

Did I mention, he sang to me last night?
