So we're taking a trip to NYC next weekend...Just Mimi and us girls. We are compiling an agenda so that we (1) don't sleep all day because we will have no kids and (2) hit all of the FABULOUS spots that are New York...Which brings up 10022-SHOE.
It just dawned on me that the place upon which I want my ashes to be strewn is not on our list of things to see - of course we are doing the Wicked thing and we're going to do the Rockettes tour (did I tell you I have 2 cousins that were Rockette's? Obviously, those genes skipped me...) 10022-SHOE is the ZIP CODE of Saks Fifth Avenue's shoe store (the mere mention of Saks brings chills up my spine - Nirvana at its finest!) Mary Mc CANNOT (I repeat) CANNOT go to NYC without visiting this shoe lovers' mecca...I may even shed a tear...I am tearing up right now as I type...WHAT IF THEY HAVE A SALE RACK? (GASP!) My pocketbook is doomed...but hey, it's better to be penniless and have good shoes than penniless and be wearing Zips, right? (Thanks DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince)... NOTE TO SELF: Add SFASH to the list - that's short for Saks Fifth Avenue Shoe Heaven. My heart is pounding right now! I may even stake out the "section" that will be sprinkled with my presence upon my departing this world...I'll end up in a vaccuum in the janitor's closet but hey, for a mere moment, I will be one with the shoes...WOW, that is deeply profound...
I will leave you with this priceless quote...Actually, it is quite pricey..."With his world of fantasy rich detail, and extraordinary imagination, he destroyed the whole idea that diamonds are a girl's best friend. Manolo Blahnik's shoes are." Andre Leon Talley, editor at large, Vogue.
(TRUE THAT! You go Andre...Manolo's and Jimmy Choo's ROCK! And by the way, I still love me some diamonds)...
Remember: You can never have too many shoes or purses...
(Speaking of which, what shoes, purses and oh yeah, clothes am I going to pack for the trip to NYC? I have suddenly put myself into anxiety/panic mode...) Must...go...find...a...brown...paper...bag...
