Shoe of the Week

Had to post this one as I felt with all of the inclement weather lately, these shoes are very appropriate...These are my Timberland boots (not Timbaland of "The Way I Are" fame...English teachers across the country shudder at the title!) Back to the shoes...Mark bought them for me while on a ski trip, Christmas of 2002. Love these boots (even though they don't have my usual heel on them...NOTE TO SELF: must develop a cute ski/snow boot with a heel)...Everytime I see them, I think of how much fun we had on the trip - including my taking off my skis and walking down a HUGE slope because I got freaked out by the height and the speed at which I was traveling downward (this was after I had brushed myself off from falling face first - massive face plant - off of the ski lift). After Mark stopped laughing, he eventually helped me....NICE!
P.S. Do you notice something in the background? Uh, that would be a Georgia flag! GO DAWGS

Just Ran Across this Shoe Stat! Can You Believe This?

Just logged on to a FABULOUS website of another shoe loving gal Meghan Leary (host of HSN's "Shoe Therapy")...www.missmeghan.com. You MUST get her book "The Perfect Fit: What Your Shoes Say About You" (Thanks to Terri for that wondeful gift!)

Okay, now I am flabbergasted!

A poll of 1,057 women by the Consumer Reports National Research Center for shopping magazine ShopSmart found U.S. women on average own 19 pairs of shoes although they only wear four pairs regularly while 15 percent have over 30 pairs.

Only 15% have over 30 pairs of shoes? What? I wonder how many have more than 50? 75? 100?

What is this world coming too?...Life is short, buy the shoes in every color!

I'm BACK...I think!

It's been long enough...I have been out of blog commission since November 16th and since then, Blogger has added Arabic, Persian and Hebrew to its reportoire of languages! Hard to believe I didn't see that one coming...Just saw where I started an entry on Decemeber 16th but didn't finish it - why, I don't know...Perhaps it's because January 22, 2008, seemed like the best day for my return!

So, I hit a milestone birthday in December and perhaps that is what precipitated the abrupt halt to the blog...I felt a tinge of arthritis kicking in! Or it could be my ever-expanding girth making it difficult to get to the computer...I haven't exercised in almost three months! YIKES! But get this, the "BIG ONE" was a shoe filled fest! Friends and family came bearing gift certificates to Off Broadway Shoes (got the most fabulous JLo leopard print/hot pink boots - they are fierce) and Zappos gift certificates AND I received two pair of designer shoes from the hubby - Plus my friend also got me the most adorable book about shoes (and shoe "signs/moons," somewhat of a zapata Zodiac spin on things) AND hair...did I tell you about hair? I got a gift certificate to Carmen Carmen AND went to visit my man Max Varji at Varji Varji Salon...compliments of Mimi and Pop...got my hair cut, my color and highlights done and an eyebrow wax...The price was comparable to the GDP of a developing country...outrageous but fabulous! All of my cards had a shoe theme...And I have to tell you about one of them ...

The front of the card has two old ladies walking down the street with bags in their hands. The one lady says, "To stay young, the doctor said to exercise and eat the right foods." The other lady shouts, "What?!" Then you open the card and she follows with, "I though he said ACCESSORIZE and BUY NICE SHOES!" HA! Now that's my kind of card...

Well, Shoe of the Week will start up again, Georgia updates too -- uh, HOW BOUT THEM #2 DAWGS? Suhweeeeeeet! Nolan is still talking about the "Black Out" at the Auburn game this year -- we were there, just the two of us, and screamed so much we were hoarse! The Fall of 2008 football season is shaping up to be a really great one....And, we just celebrated Nolan's 10th birthday, complete with a cake with pictures of UGA, Hairy Dawg, Mark Richt holding the Sugar Bowl trophy AND Knowshon Moreno served on bulldawg plates, with bulldawg napkins and soda in bulldawg cups surrounded by red and black balloons AND a UGA Locker Room sign....Did you ever doubt we are rabid Dawg fans?

Well gotta go! Nolan is making his pinewood derby car - I'll bet you can't guess what two colors he chose for his car...OH YEAH...the bulldawg mobile is going to be racing this Saturday! GO DAWGS!

PS -- And my friend bought me a shoe calendar for Christmas! Every day I get to view gorgeous shoes and quotes, etc....Now that is my kind of calendar!
